Our little baby abode

The nursery is juuuust about finished! Still a lot of details, but if Jonah came today I'd be okay with it! The border needs to be painted, and I just got the final stencil that I need for it. hopefully that will be finished over the weekend! We also need to add a rocker to the corner next to the crib as that will be my nursing station (the clothes and baby rocker won't be there much longer) The clothes also need to be organized, but I figure that will get done in a more productive manner once we find out what size he is, and which clothes he will fit into soon. Some of the 3-6 month items are smaller than the newborn sized items! So we will wait to see what he can wear before completely arranging his closet.

Here are pictures!!! I am so proud, I have to show it off.

Here is dad painting the stripes. The room would not look half as good
as it does without my dad and my brother's help!!!

The furniture along the striped wall. We will be making
music notes with letters spelling out his name to hang on the wall above the crib
The opposite wall. I'm hoping that adding the yellow border
will break up some of the blue. The good people at Lowe's did a great job
matching the shade of blue to my nursery items, but I think it all looks "too" blue!
Inside the crib. Before anyone goes on about SIDS and suffocation, I should
say that we won't be using most of the stuff that is in the crib. The bumpers will come out and hopefully I'll be able to find another use for them, and the
quilts will be used for tummy time and to cover up on outings. Some of you know that
I've been collecting the John Lennon items for years, I just wanted to finally see what they
look like all put together! Also, they look nice for pictures. The sheet is light blue with dark blue music note s all over. I tried to get a closeup, but it was all blurry.
This dresser/changing table combo has been named the furniture from hell!
I have never had such a hard time getting a piece of furniture together!! It wasn't all the dresser's fault. Most of the problem was REALLY bad instructions. Half the time, it would
show a picture of a screwdriver screwing nothing... so I had no idea which pieces to use etc.
In fact, right after this picture was taken, the bottom drawer completely fell apart. They could probably hear me cursing all the way down the street (and I am not a cursing type of person) The door needs to be put onto the cabinet, but for now I am happy to leave it as it is!!!
I love this lamp
The pull-up mirror. I L-O-V-E it!!! This is going to be where our little play area
is for tummy time etc. I hope Jonah likes it as much as I do! My dad also installed this for us!
I have tons more books to add to this shelf, I just haven't gotten them out yet!

Getting ready for Baby!

Here we are at the end of the first week in July! We are busy preparing our house for the arrival of little Jonah, due to arrive in only a few weeks! Neither of us can believe how fast time has gone by, and we have a LOT of things on our "to do" list. The nursery has been under construction, as the Ullinger men have been painting away! It is so close to being finished, that I have decided to begin setting up the furniture and putting clothes away. Soon it will be a restful and inviting space where we will nurse, sleep, and play. But right now it looks like a blue tornado hit it!

The dresser/changing table made it out of he garage, out of its box, and is now laying on the floor in all its parts waiting until I get the nerve to begin deciphering the directions once again. You would think that they'd make these things simple, since their marketing target is expecting mothers who don't have the patience or energy to put into complicated furnishings. Even if the furniture is a little more complicated to assemble, they should at least make the directions clear!

For those of you who are wanting to see how big the baby's gotten, here is the last picture I took of my belly. It was taken a couple of weeks ago, at just a little over 32 weeks (eight months, if you don't want to do the math)I am quite a bit bigger now, and he is growing f-a-s-t!
